Cell Phone Tracker
Do you know that you can determine where a person is located via his mobile phone? This is through attaining the current position of a mobile phone whether a user is stationary or moving via a cell phone tracker. This technology has been used for many years now and in its earlier stages, cell phone trackers were used by telecommunication companies to know where a mobile phone is located.
There are several types of cell phone tracking methods that are currently in use:
1. Network-based – uses cell identification and triangulation methods to accurately determine where the mobile phone is. It is dependent on the location of the device from the base station cells. A perfect example of cell phone tracking with the use of network-based technology is the E911 where emergency help can respond right away by finding the exact location of a person or a caller is even if his address or location was not revealed during an emergency call.
2. Handset-based – client software may be installed to the handset to determine its exact location. A phone equipped with a GPS can offer a precise location where a mobile phone is. Smart phones have evolved to run using software to do cell phone tracking.
3. SIM-based – using simple GSM and UMTS handsets radio measurements from each handset can be used as cell phone trackers. This is the most common type of tracking device that are offered by mobile calling companies which allow a person to track a willing subject. A message to confirm that you want to be tracked must be set beforehand. However, after confirming that you agree to the service, you may never know when you are tracked anytime of the day. Parents love the way that this cell phone tracker method works since they may determine where their kids are anytime of the day. This is of course not a free service. Mobile phone companies charge every time this service is used.
Cell phone tracking gives peace of mind to anyone who would like to know where his or her family member is. This can also be a perfect tool to direct a person to a certain location especially when his mobile phone is not equipped with GPS. Tracking for some people, may be an intrusion of their privacy but when this technology is used responsibly, it can help save lives and even improve the way emergency help is delivered.
